Folktale Project

Marcia, I have begun the weeding process for the 398s. I did a shelf over the weekend so I could have an idea of what kind of information I was going to need you to compile for me. I wanted to post it here so you or I could access/revise it as needed. I will probably show and tell you in person as well, but by posting it I can also fulfill my notify the rest of the world requirement. What I will need so far is the yearly and cumulative circ info and the last action date if there were no circs this year. In many of the books someone recorded cum. circ info from around ten years ago. I'd also like to know cum. circs since then. I'll show you how I did the first shelf using strips of Post-It notes sometime next week. I haven't figured it all out yet, but since I'm working on it I wanted to make an entry while it was all fresh in my mind.

Also, when you grab a shelf of books, if you could get the circ stats before you charge them to any shelf, that would be great. I don't want to lose that last action date because they got checked out to my shelf first. We'll talk more about strategies for keeping them available to patrons while not checking them out :)... although if my results so far are any indication, no one is reading these books, so it won't matter much :(...

Also, I just wanted to tell you in advance that I will likely be very particular about how things are done. I've been waiting for a long time to do this and am very focused right now even on the minute details... just so you know. That could change as the project progresses, but for now expect me to be, as they say, very "anal" about it. Thanks for understanding :).
