book requests
I keep forgetting that tomorrow's not Thanksgiving. Xandi, is there any way you could get your sanders here for Friday? My family is going to come in and help hang posters (Huzzah!), and they could probably also tackle the blocks if we had enough equipment. They're nice that way. But don't sweat it if you can't...
My real reason for writing is that I've had several requests lately for books about ELMO, and a few for BOOHBAH books...and more than a few for some Legos-based series for early readers. I can think of many kinds of books I'd rather you spent your money on, O Queen, but you would make young people happy if you got some of each of these, too.

Yup, I already do these things--but while *you and I* may know that Elmo's in there someplace, few parents do, and little kids have been known to actively WRINKLE THEIR NOSES if the little red guy isn't right on the cover. And the Legos requests were specifically for a "beginning reader" category book (Daniel Lipkowitz is the/an author for the Scholastic version; DK also has some "readers" on this topic).
