The End of Summer Reading As We Know It
I see that there is a sign stating that the last day that we will accept summer reading cards is August 5. I spoke with Marcia a few weeks ago, and she said that she typically gives out prizes throughout August. Is this everyone's experience? Is there any reason we shouldn't give out prizes through out August? We won't give out any more cards, of course, but there may be kids on vacation, etc. who will be very excited to hand in their cards after August 5. I, for one, am in favor of extending the handing out of prizes through the end of the summer. What say ye all?

Yeah, I only put out the sign to clarify why the CARDS will disappear next week. Most folks will ignore this sign anyway--and kids who read rarely will continue to trickle in with their cards through August, and should certainly be rewarded for their efforts. (Am I right that we will no longer be handing out cards after this week??)
Yes, it's important to remember that only STAFF MEMBERS are allowed to disregard AF's edicts. :->
