craft archives
Hello, all! I've been sorting through craft ideas a bit, and have sorted instructions and prototypes for most of the Take & Make crafts we've used in 2004 and 2005. These are filed, along with plentiful other craft ideas (mostly sorted by seasons or holidays, but I hope to expand into basic raw materials--pipe cleaners, paper bags, etc.) in the LOWER DRAWER of the file cabinet currently holding activity sheets, under the large Ellison Die Cutter.
In any case, the June Take & Make is a wonderful, easy to make paper fan that Penny found. We've already assembled 400 of these, and interest in the slider boxes seems to be waning. With the long weekend ahead, and because we start SRP crafts on June 19, we're not going to make more slider boxes OR paper fans, but will proceed to stocking up on the crafts we'll need for each week of the program.
Suggestions are welcome--if we don't use 'em this summer, I'll file them with the collection of craft ideas. For that matter, if you have an idea about how these files should be organized, please let me know--hopefully, having this archive will make it easier for all of us to come up with workable ideas in the future.

Yep, that was part of my thinking as I was organizing the crafts. I've dated the three years' worth of most recent crafts, and I try to actually put the date of each craft on the instruction sheet each month, since that's the easiest thing to store (and easy to white out for future use!). Each year's folder (2004, 2005, and 2006), has a list of crafts used that year at the front, so you can see at a glance what's been recently used.
