I'm sure I've forgotten something

a) There are WAAAAY too many people in the library on Wednesday evenings, and I think something should be done about this. They make a mess, and they keep me from getting anything done. b) Penny, we are out of sandwich bags for the April Take & Makes. We have used up both the zippered and the folding kind; folding is fine for this particular project, but I figure it makes sense to stock up on both since they will inevitably find uses this year... c) Apologies for forgetting to post a reminder to Steve and Mark to vacuum in the story room Tuesday evening (and empty wastebaskets, etc.)... Hope no small children died from ingesting tiny bits of air-drying clay... d) We seem not to have many items in the birthday prize drawing bin for our littlest patrons. AF, is there some one person who should be looking after keeping this basket stocked (i.e., to whom this question should be referred), or can Xandi and I barge into the storage room for stuff as needed? (Are there sources for this stuff besides the overhead bin in our cubicle and/or the janitors' storeroom??) e) The story room clock seems to be repaired! Now Whoever Dropped the Clock on Monday can stop feeling bad (Adrienne says she was nearby, but seems determined to protect this person's identity--whoever it was had probably lost an hour's sleep over the weekend and so could not be expected to be fully functional first thing on Monday anyway). f) If and when all these PATRONS get out of my way, I hope to trade the Frog and Toad display for one with the theme from www.GuysRead.com. Your suggestions/recommendations are also appreciated... g) No time to elaborate (three patron requests per item in this list, so far), but Christina Moore wins hands-down, in my opinion, at audio-book reading. Just finished Betty Bao Lord's wonderful In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson, which deserves its own whole posting, and CM manages to voice all the different characters (sometimes six or seven in the same space at once) perfectly. I want to be her when I grow up...

h) too perfect: when I tried first to actually publish this post, and then simply to sign out, I learned that those lousy Californians that run this site use prime evening hours to SHUT DOWN THE BLOG and do their maintenance. The nerve of some people…
